I read somewhere that they get the red coloration from eating crustaceans. So like Philhutch posted above... maybe some type of shrimp or cray fish in the diet?

That's good to know. I was doing pretty well on the stone flies last week and it just stopped for me yesterday. I will try out some of the tactics you guys wrote about.

I went out yesterday for a few hours and it was tough! Only had 1 rainbow to net. 2 LDR. The water is clearing and maybe that's why? Or it may have been the sudden drop in water...
