I saw this post a few weeks back, really wanted to make it up there but I just couldn't get free. Doesn't look like things have changed much, except the size of Grizz's camper. Glad everyone had a...

Naw, I'm still around. Just getting more reclusive all the time. ;)

Good luck with the rod. If you need any help or advice, don't hesitate to call. My number is still the same.

I don't know, guys. To me this is about the same as Barry Bonds' home run record. A genetically manipulated fish should have an asterisk next to it in the record book.

I've seen lots of dead ones laying on the bottom right below Buford Dam in the winter. I'm not sure if any make it through alive or not.

It only stands to reason that if they're in Blue Ridge Lake, they should be in the river as well. I've always thought that the stretch of river just above the lake might be decent smallie fishing,...

Here's a good list. I've become especially fond of the Harry Fodder for shoal bass, and I'm sure it works just as well for smallies.

I spent a week in Ontario fly fishing for pike a few years ago. I used a floating line with no problems. The most productive flies for me were large clousers, coyotes, and deer hair poppers and...

Nice looking rod, Musselwhite. I really like the grip and seat.

You'll love fishing it. That blank is one of my favorites for small stream trout. I built one a few years ago that we raffled off at...

Clear as mud, isn't it? ;)

I'd say 9' 4 or 5wt would be a good all-around rod for most of our larger trout streams and occasional warmwater duty. If you plan to fish the smaller mountain streams...

I believe that your epoxy wasn't quite mixed thoroughly. My recommendation would be to simply apply another coat, making sure that it is well-mixed. If the epoxy is already built up too much to add a...

Nice! I'm sure it will catch its share of trout, but that's a killer warmwater fly if I've ever seen one. Thanks for sharing.

Thumbs up Renzetti

I've been using a Traveler for ten years, tying everything from 6/0 pike flies to #32 midges. I haven't once run into a situation where I wished I had a different vise.
