Default 16F for sure!

Fished the big D in January several times at about 16F. The biggest problem was the flys had to hit open water or they bounce! Then you have to clear ice from the guides just about every cast at that temp. Lastly, you need to just about hit the fish on the nose with the fly as they as so sluggish when the water is just above 32F at that air temp. I use the orvis fold overs to great effect. Still, there is no bad weather just bad clothing... Cheers and don’t let the weather stop you! Curt.
