Can anyone give me an idea on a pond or small lake where I could take a six year old boy to catch some pan fish? I would like to fish from the shore rather than a boat in case he can't focus on fishing for very long.
He thinks he's got to fish with a fly rod, and yes I'm gonna have a go at it - yikes ! I'd like to take him to the kids fishing day at Buford, unfortunatley work won't permit it. Looks like it's gonna be a wet weekend anyway. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks! fishnut ------------------ <((^((< |

if your near Duluth, I can offer the two lakes in my hood.. They offer a good bit of pan fish and I've caught 4lb bass out of there too.. I can bring my 5y girl with me. She loves to fish there...

fishnut,
I like to fish the day after the KFE's because there are less crowds. They don't catch all those fish that are stocked. ![]() There is a pond at the Buford hatchery that is Kids Only and C&R. So, if you don't want to keep the fish, the pond is loaded with small bream and big catfish. Bacon for the bream, liver for the catfish. According to Superchub (kid at heart), the bream will take a wooly booger. When I used to live in Woodstock, I took the kids to the pond at Dupree Park located off of Neese Road. Lots of bream, some big bass and a few very large carp. |
