Question COE reduces flow from Buford again?

Was just looking at the river gauges and I saw that the one at Buford dam show that the outflow at minimum is now around 470cfs (started on Fri 4/3).

Whats up with that?

Navigating the river in a boat is going to be really tricky now!

Don't know, but it would not surprise me that they are taking advantage of all of this rain and allowing the lake level to fill up rather than let it go down river. Every time the lake rises in level it makes the 6:00 news and the Army Corp knows it!

I was out on Lanier recently and it looks great having less bank showing. Hopefully the COE will allow the lake to keep coming up.

They will adjust flow down if they feel there is sufficient water coming from runoff and downstream tribs at the time. That may be the reason. Balancing various user requests is probably pretty tough.

We had a request in to the COE for minimal flow if possible for the KFD. Mother Nature had other plans. The river was extremely high even with minimal release.
