Default Grass Carp in the rain

Spent much of yesterday evening chasing this beast around the lake. She hesitantly would surface and sip grass clippings off the top. After hundreads of casts and many near takes, she finally inhaled my fly. About 20min later she was in my hands. What a great way to end the day!

Cheers to all!

I caught her on a small green body popper. If you can find the fish feeding on top, pick a fish and cast only to that fish. Lead the fish about 3 feet and let the fly sit DO NOT MOVE IT!!! lol after a while you will fool one. Grass carp are super tough to catch, however they are so worth the effort!

Nice job! I've spent some time trying to catch these before-some of them get huge.

I never hooked one though-I even tied some "grass flies"-striped some green marabou and tie several strands on a hook. They are spooky-two times I had fish come up a "kiss" it but they never took enough to get a hook in them.
