Thumbs up

A while back, I was delicately casting into my favorite little redeye stream on a perfect day--cool overcast and with a constant, pittering little rain. There was not even a sign of another soul around and I enjoyed a little peace and quiet--just me and the fish.

Then my peace and quiet were shattered by the roar and shriek of a jet engine. I whipped my head up and saw an A-10 Warthog--an Air Force tank killer--flying low and slow. They must have been on a canyon training run.

At first, I was mad at the disturbance. Then I realized that what those guys were doing provided me the freedom to do what I was doing. I will never again be upset over having a military jet disturb my day of fishing.

[Note: I posted this same message on FAOL and it lasted less than a day before they deleted it. Let's hear it for NGTO's patriotism!]
