Fly Rod Survey

Just a quick survey. What do you all look for in a fly rod. Does price surpass quality or action? Would you rather pay more for a high quality rod with a no-fault warranty or less for a rod with a limited warranty.

Would you always test cast a rod before buying?

How would you rank the following in order of importance when choosing a flyrod:

-Feel
-Appearance/Aesthetics
-Price
-Weight of rod in hand
-Recommendation of a fly shop employee/friend
-Advertising by the rod company

Also, do any of you have a particular brand of rod you prefer overall? If so, why?



Thanks for the input. This is to satisify some curosity on my part as to the reasoning by anglers when they 'pick a pole'.
