no comp last weekend, just 8 guys camping out and fishing together. No score treys, no score cards, no time limits, just fishing. Where do you come across anything that lets you accuse a group of anglers of having a comp, when I publicly denounced and put my word on the fact that no comp would take place there out of RESPECT to everyone else and their opinions on NGTO. The 8 ''friends, competitors, team mates'' whatever you want to call them simply went and enjoy the toot for what she is, a pretty little creek with a nice population of wild trout.
And no NCF fish there, that is a true WILD stream Georgia Fish, though it has been refrizerated it comes from no stretch of water where a pellet pig can move up. Just for the sake of clarifying for everyone, the fish is a "taxi-trout", stuffed, fake, taxidermist. It was a live streamborn and raised wild N.Ga Trout that I had caught and had mounted after it did not revive from a clash with a wooly bugger and his gills. And to further clarify "refrizeration'' is not real and is not a safe practice on any wildlife. Just having a little summertime heat wave fun.

I crashed in my hammock on Friday night a hundred yards downstream from Team DD. I was initially surprised to see those guys up there after all of the debate a week prior on this board, but they were just up there having a good time. I can't complain about a bunch of guys getting together for a camping and fishing trip - I have a group of guys, and twice a year we do the same thing (though we usually go to the GSMNP). I also agree with Dink as to the current status of the Toot. The amount of people up there on Friday night and Saturday morning was shocking. I've never seen so much TP in my entire life - it was everywhere! It's sad to see the Toot in this condition. I was reading in Jimmy's book that in the 1950's, prior to the trophy regulations, 50-100 people would be up there on weekends fishing, but after the regulations, very few people traveled to the Toot. It looks like it has come around full circle.

should have come by and said hello. We saw several NGTO decals on cars as well. We had a great time, and made every effort to minimize any impact. We fished in groups of 3 but we never spread out. 3 people together, one fishing at a time, then once the first was done, the next angler friend tried his luck behind and so forth.
It still has a lot of fish, though, even with the increased crowds.

NGTO seems to be going in a direction that some of its members highly disapprove of yet this stuff continues.
And this is regardless if true or not, mockery, or respect.

just cant make everyone happy. I will apologize to EVERYONE that took Sasquatch, some good times, some cooking recipes, some exaggerations in good fun, a few fish pics, not publicly "naming" only hinting at a creeks name, and only enjoying some time with friends at a public camping and fishing area, as insulting, disrespectful, or any other negative way. There are HUNDREDS of small stream fishing reports hence the reason for this topic on the forum...yet we are aked to keep our reports, experiences, and good times to ourselves. There is one large factor that has increased the use of the toot, NCF. From TU groups, to BLogs, Guide service posting pics it all leads to "smart" anglers associating the two and therefore exploring a new stream opportunity. The second factor I would say is population growth, as Fannin and adjacent counties have double in size, therefore the amount of use and demand for such places has double as well.

I don't think anyone was insulted by you guys going up there and having a good time. Just keep it to yourself when you are on a small wild creek, and please don't harass me further in PM. Thanks.
