Gotta love the Estes Park/RMNP area. Is that first stream the Big T (moraine park section)? Those are some really nice greenbacks. The thing I love about that area, is the variety of trout you have in a small area. Its pretty easy to get a super slam (rainbow, brookie, brown, cutthroat) in one day. Great job, and great report!

Many thanks for sharing your trip with us. As a cube-dweller, I need all the visual stimulation I can get - it cuts down on those pesky interpersonal relationship issues!

I wondered about you guys with the wide-spread heavy weather last weekend - hope all is well at home.

Take care,

James,
Have you followed Waldo Canyon Fire? Lots of damage in my old haunts as a high schooler. My first "official" job (Flying W Ranch) burned completely to the ground.

Default Stop! Stop!

Stop! Stop! You're breakin' my heart man. I know those lakes/ponds and it has been too, too long now since I was in the Park. Okay, only a year, but it feels longer! The moose are a fairly recent addition to the Park. They were originally re-introduced into the Colorado State Forest and then decided they like the east slope rather than the west slope and just walked over!

Yes, I've heard about the fires. And noticed how close one of them was getting to the Springs.

I wish I could have grown up out there. Its a big and neat place. Too bad about the Flying W Ranch. I'm sorry for those that also have lost their homes to the fires. The winds have really made containment very difficult. Hopefully, they will die down.
