I said I would post a while back when Watkins was going on about wickels.
This came from an old friend of my fathers. It is simple and is quick to make. Tip: it is hard to gauge how much liquid you will need.Always make a full recipe of the liquid at a time.Materials are cheap and I found if you try to cut the recipe it is not quite right. Aprox. ingredients for one gallon of produce.May vary weather whole or sliced. I just stuff a mason ball jar full of produce and poor liquid to the top screw lid on tightly and refrigerate for one week. 6-cups water 1 cup white vinegar 1/4 cup kosher salt 2-5 cloves garlic 2 hot peppers from jar any of the small jared peppers are good or you can add whatever you want. 1-teaspoon pepper juice 1/4 teaspoon Alum 1/4 box dill seed (fresh dill is the best) Do not use waxed cucumbers, Bring water, vinegar&salt together to a boil and pour into jar with produce ,garlic, peppers, and alum. Let me know if this works for you!! ![]()
