As for the bank structures...not sure about that one, but as others have mentioned, it needs to be enforced. |

I hope Riser can get Rick Slade to read this entire thread.
May be Rick will make an attempt to inspect the river from dam to dam and make things right. Stop people from eroding the banks, make people tear down old docks before they fall in the water, check for run off pollution and correct buffer zones, make sure the golf courses are not sucking the river dry to water their lawns, make sure the drains in the industrial areas along the river are not clogged with chemical soaked debris, make sure docks protruding into the river are made from correct materials that will not leach into the water. Fish and people do not like to drink water splashed with creosote and worse. You might get a little wet Rick? ![]() |

As someone who lives on the river, I am way more concerned about those landowners upstream than those on the river.
Ever seen Suwanee Creek when it rains? - or any other trib? truly disgusting. |

Suwanee creek is the worst I have seen. It pushes a bunch of silt into the river.
If you see residential/commercial development without proper erosion prevention in place notify the EPD. They can be reached at either 404.657.5947 or 888.373.5947. |

It might not be just the ones that are on the tributaries. There is a lot of run-off that gets into the creeks and rivers from storm drains on roads and parking lots during heavy rains. Erosion control measures are needed for ANY property that has soil that has been disturbed by construction. That soil, if unchecked, gets into storm drains and eventually makes its way to the rivers then the problems really begin!

Spoke to Rick Slade of CRNRA last week and he was interested in checking on this structure/stairsteps. It may violate varous protective ordinances but there are questions regarding where the borders between various agencies are located. It may start in Forsyth Co.'s jurisdiction (top of the bank) but may pass into NPS land (within 5 feet of water level) at the bottom.
I'll post more info if I hear from the NPS.
