I have not been able to fish for the past two weekends but was rewarded with a beautiful day today. And it was great to see more water in the river. The algae bloom that was present three weeks ago was hardly noticeable today due to the larger volume of water. The fish were slow to bite early this morning but things began to pick up around 10:30 AM. I ended up catching 21 (18 shoalies, 1 spot, 2 redbreast). All but two were 13 inches or less. Two were over 17 inches with the largest being 18 inches. She put up a great fight. She swam under two big rocks during the stuggle and just as I slipped the net under her the hook fell out of her mouth. I looked upwards and thanked God for that bit of good fortune. Best fly of the day was a large silver beadhead black wooly bugger.

Wow! Twenty-one shoalies... great results. It looks like you were at Whitewater.. Is that correct? I might go wet a black booger myself this week..
