I wouldn't want yours, or anyone else's pity. I saw the day as a success. For me, fishing is supposed to be about learning, not catching fish, though that is a benefit. I did not fail, I merely found many things not to do and how to improve them.

Mog, 1st, I won't be there this weekend. I'm going out of town to visit my crotchety grandfather to celebrate his 90th birthday. 2nd, you're avatar is one that keeps me perplexed and watching intently for a few minutes every time I log on.

that was me you spoke to in the parking lot. sorry you got turned around on the other side of the bridge. This time of year most of the trails can get a bit over grown and a bit hard to pick out in spots. I did notice you were a bit off balance. The dam area can be a bit slick on the rocks
that's why I use the float tube. having bad knees, it makes it a bit more comfortable and safer cover more water as well. just pick you feet up and drift down to the next hole. I hope your next experience there is much more productive. PM me the next time you are going I will be happy to meet you there and show you around a bit.Bruce |

BOATERFISH, the reason I was unsteady is because, when I was 10, 11 years ago, I had brain cancer that messed with the part of my brain that controls balance. So I stumble around like I'm drunk a lot, it'll suck when a cop makes me walk the line.

glad you made it through that. but yet another reason for a float tube on the hooch.
I can tell you from experience, going down in swift water and slick rocks can make for a real bad day. one other thing if you are not that familure with the river, Be sure to take note of the water release schedule. 770-945-1466 you don't want to be caught off guard. HAHAHA Thanks for the post. That made me laugh. I could almost see your entire trip in my head as I read it. You have a good outlook on it.
The dam (Especially down at bowman's) is some treacherous wading for sure. A walking staff is a must have piece of gear. Hopefully I can meet you out there soon and things will go better. ![]()

I'm just trying to figure out how in the world you settled on "Trout God" as your handle?
Keep at it, man. My first few times out on the river were disasters and were pretty frustrating for someone who'd never really had a lot of trouble catching fish in his life. |

I chose Trout_God because I am such a novice and was being subtly ironic.
