Default Casting for Hope's Cherokee Classic--June 18--$6,000 in Prize Money

This fun event is back for this year and slated for June 18—hopefully you’ll have some birthday cake on me as I’ll be celebrating turning 33 that day.

The Cherokee Tribe has graciously donated $6,000 for the prize money for this event—$3,000 to first place, $2,000 to second place, $1,000 to third place.

George Fallon, member of the USA Youth Team, will be the point person for this event this summer.

To encourage some participation beyond the TroutLegend, FlyComps, and experienced competition crowd, we are allowing suspension strike indicators, split shot, tying off the bend of hooks, etc…

Additionally, this year, this event will be a volunteer-controlled event to allow more time for anglers to fish. Anglers will fish four 1.5 hour sessions—two on the Raven’s Fork Trophy Waters; two on the general enterprise waters. While both anglers will be allowed to fish at the same time, both anglers will have to be in close enough contact with each other to use the same volunteer controller. Each team will be assigned one controller whom you’ll need to provide transpiration to and from the four different sessions.

While Fips fishing rules won’t be in effect, Fips scoring will determine placing.

All participants will be provided continental style breakfast, lunch at the Fly Fishing Museum, and pizza dinner while scoring is being finished and a t-shirt…
