"TVA lake info" app is great if you're fishing the Toccoa. Has all the release info you need. Has the full gambit of TVA lakes/rivers as well.

My wife, Meaux, works for Trimble Navigation in their agricultural sector. She turned me onto Trimble's GPS tracking app for hunting and fishing. I LOVE this app and use it to mark good fishing spots over time, as well as planning trips and finding my way back out of those southern bayous when I get all discombobulated.

The app was free when I first got it four years ago, but required a small fee to use it in conjunction with your computer. There's a free trial to check it out.

Also check out the mobile app for Chattahoochee Riverkeepers, just in case you discover something amiss on your favorite creek / river.

Thanks for the heads up on the DNR app. Very user friendly. I really like the fact that it displays your license for you.
I got checked yesterday..just whipped out my phone, pulled up the app and handed it to the officer. Easy as pie!

Maps.me is a good (free) GPS app. You download the maps to your phone so you don't need cell/network coverage to use it out in the boonies. You can mark waypoints, etc. easily. I think it will do breadcrumbs as well so you can retrace your steps back to the truck. It also seems to find itself on the map much quicker than Google Maps.

Default Hyrdogauges - Android

I use the Hydrogauges app to check the water levels of streams. It just pulls stream data from USGS and puts it in a listing by state and then by stream so you can access it easily. I don't have to click through that clunky USGS website anymore. It's free.
Only for Android right now I believe. Pretty Awesome!
