Anyone with experience with sage vxp 5 weight rods. I know they are discontinued but there are some good deals out there. Thanks

Iíve been throwing the 9í 5wt VXP since last December and I love it. Itís got a pretty fast action, but thatís what I prefer. Iíve used it on everything from small wild trout to twenty-five pound striper in the chestatee. Itís sensitive enough for to smaller fish, but still has quite a bit of backbone if you end up hooking into something large. Hope that helps you decide. I ended up buying one blindly due to the low price and havenít regretted it once.

I bought an 8 wt I use in the salt. Very light rod and cast like a dream, I love that thing! I don't see how you can go wrong at the sale price. I'd loved to have it in a 5wt. Get it!!

I have a custom rod built on a VXP 9' 5 wt blank. I absolutely love it and it may be my favorite all around rod that I own. You won't be disappointed with it especially at that price point.

Default Sage VXP

I have a 9' 7wt VXP that i bought from the Fish Hawk...outstanding for the money. i'm not an $800 caster. great performance and value. check out the Gorge Fly Shop in Oregon...they seem to get a lot of Sage close-outs.

Thanks for all replies. Got one on the way, I believe it's coming from Gorge Fly Shop.
