Iím a local. Been fishing the river since I was a little one and the lake since it was filled. All the above is correct. I catch schooling hybrids and stripes with a few largemouths by fishing the mouths of coves and humps a couple hours in the mornings and tend to fish flats and the mouth of coves that have a creek or several creeks entering it. I use a white popper while the fish are on top and have a clouser or a schiminnow on another rod for when they go down. In the evenings I follow the fish into the coves and fish around dock lights at night with white or chartreuse schiminnows.
I also target carp and gar during the day with some success. Brim fishing is surprisingly good in the back of coves and around boat docks.
Good luck and the fishing is great.

Jeff, thanks for the info. I tied up a few of my favorite pan fish fly's last night to use around the docs.

What color clouser patterns are you finding success with? I only have a few pairs of dumbbell eyes left and I would like to make them count.

Are the bass leader shy?

I use florocarbon leaders and tippets mostly for the stripers.
The colors on my clousers are white/chartreuse/olive and white/blue/olive. I also use the same color combination on my bendbacks. My schiminnows are either all white or all chartreuse. Iíll try and post a picture of the schiminnows.
