First of all, I want to thank everyone that supported me in preparing for this comp, and also thank everyone on the board for the kind remarks and well wishing!
Thanks especially to Scott Brown, Bret Nelson, and Ben VanDevender for letting me use their equipment. Final results! 1st place: Austen Randecker; 5 placing points, 41,660 fish points. 2nd place: Hunter Enloe; 6 placing points, 27,520 fish points. 3rd place: Gabriel Wittosch; 8 placing points, 32,680 fish points. At the closing ceremony, I was one of those who were picked to be on Youth Team USA. Thanks Again Guys! HoochBuster Ps: I'm in the parking lot about to start another comp, I'm kinda tired haha

Congrats Gabe on your selection to the team. All your rewards are from your hard work and God given talents. We have 3 boys from GA that made the team. Besides Gabe, Hunter Hoffler and Andrew Brown made the team. Congrats to all you fine young men. I've fished with all three of these kids and they are great examples and ambassadors to the sport. Kudos to their parents for the way they turned out.

Congrats Gabe! You should sleep well tonight, three days of comp fishing in a row will wear a guy out.

No small feat Gabe, as I was there. awhile back Paul had asked for controllers and I've not been back there in awhile, so I headed up to help out and fish a little. I had wished to be Gabe's controller for a session, but that didn't work out.
This was stiff competition, all those kids could FISH! Congradulation Gabe, job well done. I did get a beat with Mr serious, @ 15 Andrew Brown a very accomplished angler as well. During our beat we discovered a Hornet nest, 1st Andrew was stung and then I, right on the head before we saw those devils about 2' right above my head as I sat on a rock. It could of been bad . I had passed by them close several times during that 8 hr stint on the bank .NC is just beautful this time of year, and the park fishing was great, I caught four nice size Browns in 45 minutes right before dark on Friday, they fought hard, as if their life depended on it . I want to go back ASAP and spend a few days in there just fishin' this time . ![]()
