Default St. Croix Warranty Program?

Anyone used this program lately? I recently had to due to broken rod, all my own fault. I was a little surprised to find out that if the rod was broken by fisherman and not MFG error, it was a $75 charge for repairs or replacement. I guess I was used to No Fault No Questions Asked Warranties like Orvis or TFO where it was $25 S&H no matter what the cause of damage. Also, typically how quickly does St Croix get the rod back to you? They have had mine for over two weeks now and I can assure you that they can not repair the damages but instead will need to replace sections. Anyway, does anyone else think that their Program is a little pricey considering what you pay for their rods. I love their rods and have several of them, but I guess I should have looked at their warranty program a little bit better because I may have made my purchase decisions differently based on it. Thanks

Sounds high to me considering their price range. Sage is $50. Orvis is $30.

Kind of what I was thinking too. Love the rods though. I guess they changed this recently just like their trade in program. Trade in used to be $10 off per year and now it is 10% off of cost of rod per year. So if you have an Avid retailed at $260 it would be $26/yr.

Ouch.. I recently asked about this b/c I was considering buying a St. Croix. I'm brutal on rods... ...Think I'll pay extra and keep rockin' the Orvis. Their warranty is mind-blowing..

Price of the warranty is built-in to the purchase price, just saying.
