Nice nice brown. You buddy should get 1/4 credit for helping with the fight. I have a place in Mineral Bluff and fish the Bend a good bit. That's a good fish for there.

Yeah I was shocked to pull out a brown of that quality out of the bend. First cast too. I've lost a couple nice browns recently so it was nice to get one in the net.

We left before the release got to us and headed to horseshoe. I made my first cast and put the rod in my left hand because I was turning on my gopro. As I went to turn it on, I saw the stimicator go under. I set the hook left handed and it felt like a tree on the other end. I knew instantly that this was no normal stocker. I quickly put the rod in my right hand and starting battling. He made a run upstream and got my flies tangled up with Marius' flies and I just knew this wasn't going to end well. I kept telling Marius to cut his line!!! LOL Finally the fly I had on the dropper tag broke off and I was free to fight him. He made a strong run and came out of the water and I saw it was a really respectable brown. He wasn't completely tired out but I saw an opening and was able to quickly slide him in the net. What a beautiful fish! He helps make up for a couple other nice browns that I have lost lately. Catching a nice brown like that on public access of the tail water is pretty dang special. I caught him on a size 18 blue back PT. Who says big fish don't hit small flies?!?!? Here is a video and a couple pics. Thanks for making the trip up Marius. I had a blast.

Thanks everyone. It was a beautiful fish and a nice way to celebrate father's day. I hope everyone had a great weekend.
