Interesting, thank you for posting the link. Never heard of this group.

I read this in the material on their site and it gives me pause:

Quote:
Take Action!
Tell the Army Corps: No New Reservoirs on the Hooch Urge the Army Corps of Engineers to deny permits for new reservoirs that would damage the river flows, destroy one of America’s best trout streams and create even more water supply problems for Atlanta.
Where in the wide world of sports would the ACE place a Dam between Buford and Morgan Falls? Makes me wonder if this organization has actually been on the river in that stretch because that's the only section that can sustain trout.

ETA: I think I get it now...they're saying that dams upstream of Buford Dam will reduce water flow into Lanier and hence into the Hooch. In an event the Environmental Impact work has been going on for a while for the proposed Glades reservoir on Flat Creek which seems to be the primary influence on water flow into Lanier.

And this has been discussed here before (I still hadn't heard of 'em, I just ran a a search. ) http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/foru...merican+rivers

American Rivers, among other things, compiles some interesting stats on stream and river resources.

For instance, Georgia has 71,000 miles of streams and rivers. To put this in perspective, the Earth is about 25,000 miles around at the equator.
