Default PB 15# Brown

This game really is about being in place when the fish get stupid for 15 minutes.

This fish has been a 34 month oddyssy to break my PB.

By far the best eat and fight out of a big brown ever. 20 Foot chase down off a shelf, missed it 3 times and crushed it the fourth pass. Stripped tons of drag, and dang near got into a tree.

Stats: 29.5 inches and 20.5 inch girth. Weight calculators are telling me between 14.5 and 15.5 pounds.

Thank you to all of you who have helped me grow from a raging college student, to a SOMEWHAT more level headed young man. Even those I've argued with over the years have generally brought new thought provoking ideas.

And there is a 50 something ozark Hillbilly named Cheeko who I need to thank. He taught me how this is done about 20 years ago as a wee lad. Wish I could send it to him, but no phone no internet no problems.

That is some kind of awesome!

I'm with you on being there at the right moment when everything aligns.

Congratulations.

Default Triangle Face... The Legend!!!

We have been hunting this fish for several months now. He first revealed himself when he decided to feed for 15 minutes solid but would not justify us with a take. Hard work paying off right there! And yes, he is back in the river to fight another day, but GOOD LUCK CATCHING HIM,lol!!!

That fish was set up in a current seam that only exists for about 10 minutes in a 250 CFS bandwidth. It clears a set of overhanging branches that shelter young of year browns like a drain for about 10 minutes per release.

It probably took 400 to 500 runs through there to understand that timing and positioning. If you miss the cast by a foot your presentation won't be in the chute.

It pretty clockwork to find them in that spot, on that flow, at that time. It just rarely rarely rarely lines up. It's dang near impossible to execute with the crosscurrent there.

To give you an idea I went to fish that spot based off of feedback from almost 2 years ago, but last night was the first time things set up that way in almost 21 months.

Ha! Nice! That bottom red dot in the middle looks familiar.

Awesome fish and congrats. Curious, was it on a fly rod or spin?
