![]() Headed north again today to try another NC dh stream. Thought about Fires but won out. It was 8:00 when the pavement turned to gravel and I was worried about getting a spot. Drove up to the middle of the section and hadn’t seen a car or fisherman yet, beginning to think I was at the wrong place. I was flying blind so I just picked a pull off at random. Got rigged up and was in the water right at 8:30. First cast was in the trees, lost both flys and the tippet. Tied on one of Prowlers candy corn mops below a green inch worm.
![]() A couple of bows got the day started. The mop bite slowed so a few fly changes later the brookie parade started ![]() ![]() About 9:30 the Browns decided to eat ![]() Picked up a couple of doubles ![]() A couple of fish started rising so I tied on a dry and caught 4 or 5. Took a break at 10:30 Got a nice surprise when I got back in the water ![]() The bite slowed down a little bit so I went back to the candy corn mop and promptly started catching fish again. A whole bunch of fish were caught. Several were pretty nice size including an 18” brookie that came on double that somehow I didn’t get a picture of and this guy measured a little over 20” ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by Dave375; 04-03-18 at 07:39 AM. |

![]() Da Da’s, I don’t mind if you use them.
Thanks gau16 Trout “R” I recommend it. Was my first time there, I’m guessing others were fishing it but I didn’t see anyone the 6 hours I was fishing. Saw one group of 3 on the drive out. |
