Default Timpson Creek

Has anyone ever fished Timpson Creek? I pulled in off Timpson Creek Road off 76 and was trying to find the road. The local guy who lives by the easement said that they haven't stocked it in five years, and that the road is in bad shape after the tornado went through years ago...

On the DNR stocking report I see Timpson Creek... Is this just the small portion that goes into Lake Burton? Or do they stock along the portion North of 76 and he was just making sure we didn't get into his fishing spot?!

Thanks! Tight Lines!

It is difficult to get info on Timpson Creek. I have tried several times over the past couple of years. Almost like on purpose.

Timpson Creek is stocked very irregularly through the season. It is only stocked in that section you visited, north of Hwy 76. Water quality gets a little marginal since it flows out of Germany Valley, an area with a lot of agriculture and ground disturbance. There are wild browns in the creek, I would target those instead of hoping for the stocking truck.

There was a tornado that crossed the creek several years ago. That, and the HWA, has put A LOT of large woody debris in the creek. Yes, the road gets a little rough, but a good 2WD truck can handle it.

Check out Timpson Creek Falls while there. Be aware that the FS property line crosses the top of the falls - no public water upstream of the falls.

Don't let the landowner at the bottom keep you from enjoying the creek. The FS has an easement through his short section of private land and it's public water upstream from there.
