I was wondering if any body knew of any good lakes to fish for trout. I am looking for a place to get some practice catching trout using lake techniques. Preferably it a small very clear lake would be great. If you happen to know of a place shoot me a pm of how to get there. Thanks

There are several lakes that fit the description, but still water trout fishing in Ga is pretty slim. Rock Cr Lake, Winfield Scott, Dockery, Vogel and Unicoi St Park etc. all have trout.

I am familiar with some of those lakes, the biggest thing I am also wondering is the temperature of them. I know unicoi is going to be pretty warm (based upon the temp of smiths last time I fished it).

Bub is right. They all get stocked during the season s there are trout. They hang out toward the bottom where it is cooler. IMO, they'd make decent winter fisheries

The lakes in NC are far more consistent (they have more than just that weeks stockers in them) and have a lot less pressure...PM me if you want names...

I would suggest Burton in Rabun County. There are a lot of warm water species mixed in as well but it is stocked from time to time and it's not uncommon for fish to get very large in there. But don't waste your time over 4th of July weekend on there.
