Was all excited to get both outer gunnels on tonight but ran into a little problem

All but a handful of clamps used... the Tatman boats website(not the plans I have) says you can build one of these with something like 5 c clamps. I respectfully disagree. I'll let this take shape for another day or two then glue and screw it into place. Get some blocks for the inner gunnels made in the meantime

Outer gunnel number two on
Gotta pick up lumber for the inwhales in the am. Then fit the interior and she's ready. Just gotta order a little bit more epoxy, durabak, oars, and teak oil

As well as oar locks, anchor pulleys, anchor line, anchor

I've realized reading back on this thread that every time I say it'll be done in a day or two it actually takes two weeks. But now I'm determined to get this thing done before august. I want the hull complete and on the trailer for the fourth to catch bass out of it in a buddies pond. We'll see

Bum,
Looking good. If only this wasn't being built at work a nice 10 day sick leave could be just the ticket for completing in time for the 4th.

Don't I know it. Hour a day has been producing steady fast results. You could easily build one of these in a few months working an hour a day straight through

Been plugging away, had to pick up ash to finish my gunnels. 8 foot long 12 inch wide 8/4s board was all they had. Little much but figured I'd have plenty extra...well thanks to these guys it was littered with worm(yellow jacket) holes

Only got 4 good strips out of the whole thing. But it's enough.
Got my frame thickeners on the frames

This stumped me for a while and my first attempt looked pretty lame to me.
Turns out I was cutting the wrong bevel like an idiot

Much better. Gotta finish the fly deck and knee brace before I can bolt my gunnels on. Chugging along

I'm embarrassed to say how many times I have cut the wrong bevel. I have a nice little pile of scrap wood to prove it. Forgive me if I missed this in a previous post but did you find 16' ash or are you scarfing it?
