Default Outstanding Hooch Weekend

With all the rain all week I asked my friends at Alpharetta Outfitters where I should fish. I was told to try The Dam, which I was apprehensive because I really never had luck fly fishing there. I have caught many over the years with my spin gear but I figured give it a try. Met a couple of guys that fish competitively in the lot, they gave me a few pointers and bam it was on....
Caught dozens of Bows Saturday in 3 hours so of course I had to try again Sunday and sure enough dozens more. Took a pics of nice Bows, biggest is this 16 inch porker... Thank you Chris and Billy you helped dial me in very well!!

That's terrific! I don't know what going on this year but the bows have been substantially bigger. I got a feeling someone going to break 18". Jeff at AO talked me into getting that Patagonia sling pack when it first came out...its perfect for summer wet wading.

Default Leopard Bow!!!

That first bow actually has the coolest patterns I have ever seen on a rainbow!!! Those vermiculations are like a leopard print pattern over a rainbow! Very Very cool looking fish. Looks like I am wet wading later this week.

Good stuff, Mike. I knew I should've gone to the Dam on Saturday!

That first rainbow is a bruiser. No better feeling than that initial realization and mental dialogue "**** big fish, big fish."
