![]() Accurate, fast, and consistently placed shots into vital areas is the best way to stop a threat.

![]() That was what I thought the problem was for years. But turns out the extractor replacement lets me shoot any 5 dollar a box special out there. To be clear you won't really have the extractor problem until you have a few thousand rounds on it. I use this gun for pretty much everything so it's got some mileage Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

![]() Invalid question without "for Xxxx" statement, both are awesome rounds, both have their minuses, why not go 300 AAC and 6.5?

![]() Ah that's no fun! I don't have any experience with either of the rounds you mentioned. I'm assuming both of those are mostly hunting rounds? I have zero experience hunting animals....

![]() [quote=Trout8myfly;Just keep in mind that this kind of shopping can be dangerous...to your bank account.[/QUOTE]
Extremely. I use to live 5 minutes away from Adenture Outdoors. My bank account thanked me when I moved away. I just haven't been able to convince myself to purchase a gun online sight unseen. Van cheeses (autocorrect keeps doing it I promise). It doesn't matter what kind of gun/caliber you shoot if you do an anchor shot they are not getting back up. And in order to do it you just have to be comfortable with the caliber you choose. For most people the first shot will be their most accurate in a high stress situation, so that's where I believe in "knockdown power". So one shot in theory with a 45 to center mass should do more then a 9. But I Do believe the 9 to be a more controllable round for those without tons of training. It's why most departments are beginning to make the shift away from a 40 and back to the 9. With all that being said I vote for anything in a nato round. I also vote for a 5.56 in 62 grain. Next vote is for the 6.5. Do y'all prefer the 50 cal rifle round or a .338 Lapua Magnum or the basic 308 when it comes to a tactical long range round?

![]() I seem to find hobbies that like to reach into my wallet. Between fishing and the smell of gunpowder - life is pretty **** good.
1911 will come in handy while I'm out playing with the black bears in Maine. Peace of mind for me, I had one sitting in the blackberry patch while walking in bait last year. My Dad brought his 1911 home in separate boxes from WWII. Wished he would have kept it, but he traded it in.

And remember this....your gun is only valid when life/property is threatened. If your first shot puts them on the ground, are you still threatened? No anchor shots.... |

![]() I prefer the MK19...that thing is amazing and saved my life more than once... I've never even heard of an "anchor shot" before...shooting during a high stress situation (gunfight) is worlds apart from shooting in a controlled environment. The only way to come even close to replicating it is to practice shooting while under extreme physical duress...I recommend finding an outdoor range and doing a Fran or similar metcon WOD and then immediately engaging two targets. Also awesome is doing a long and heavy farmers carry or weighted sprints and then engaging multiple targets while your heart rate is redlined... I guarantee if you can put yourself into true physical duress and then shoot you will be amazed at the results and not in a good way... it attacks the fundamentals of shooting...near impossible to get a good front sight picture and control breathing and your grip will be all screwed up... I've seen outstanding marksmen go to poop once the rounds are incoming... sooooo....Ford or Chevy?
