Default Can you use a slotted bead with a "regular" nymph or midge hook

Can you use a slotted bead with a "regular" nymph or midge hook?
in other words can you use those with a non-jig style hook?

I have some hooks I need beads for but they are just called "curved", and the hook eye sits sideways, not inline with the hook shank. Haven't used slotted beads before so was just looking into them.
