Yesterday I walked up on a big nasty looking white lab type dog with no collar on the side of the river near the rangers hut. He was pretty mean looking and showed me his teeth when I stepped towards him and tried to talk to him. I didn't see him today on the Ami but he might still be in the area. Watch your kids and your dogs and your back. He didn't look rabid but you never know.

Yep, Those corndog patterns work well for many species that don't live in the water. In fact...last week I caught a 185 lb kayaker while fishing a corndog pattern. He had alot of fight in him and even came out of the boat once or twice. When I landed him I found that his boat had beatiful colors on it including a bright red stripe down it's side

hey gray ghost, let me guess... you were the one fishing from a float tube today who told me about the dog before i walked upriver. i am the guy who pulled up and parked in the grey tundra during the late afternoon.
i didnt see the dog on that part of the river but i did see him later on. i didnt have a single strike in the lower section at all... not even around the bridge were you told me to go. i must of not been holding my jaw right or something. tell me again, what you were using? i saw the dog on the ami. church road. no collar and bushy with a lab like appearance. he was marking his territory around 5:30 when i passed. i ended up with 5 for the day, missing about the same number in the upper section. most of them were on olive WB. like i said no luck on the lower well its nice to put a face to a familiar name on NGTO. im sure ill see you up there again... especially if the hooch keeps on a constant water release. tight lines, jscott |

Hey Jscottyfish !
I was using a little brown nymph yesterday and was geting into them pretty good. The sun was out a little more yesterday and the brown stoneflies were coming off a lot better also. I also did good with a root beer micro bugger today and a few yesterday. They were hitting it deep just on the dead drift with no action. A few I caught was right at the end of the drift when the pattern was coming back up in the swing. Nice to meet you today. When the river stops running high come and join a few of us for a float trip run. Lil'Joe I did have some slim jims in my pocket. Oh wait I did find a jar of Tentwing power nuggets on the trail and I just remembered I put them in my vest because I hate litter. I bet that is what made him angry. ![]() |

Ghost
If I were to think back just about a year, I believe I would remember Ghost catching something in the DH section that had hair. Maybe a Beaver....yep it was a beaver, now when I think a little harder I remember the now small brown pattern that was being tested then. Corndog..... Just glad I have stayed out of range of the Ghost camera. Bigga... |
