I am the old GRW that you will note in the archives.I have been away from the board for
along time and lost my registration. Now I am gerald and a junior member.Anyway I have flyfished the trout warters of GA,SC,Tenn since moving down here in 1960.I haven't been trout fishing in a couple of years now--cant stand driving through Atlanta from Auburn,AL. Anyway I have fished just about every stream and portion of stream in NGA and I know that the only thing that has changed is the traffic on the streams and the roads. If you need to know anything about a stream just email me and I will try to help.GRW --the Dorado man |

Hey Gerald. I'm sure we've passed each other a few times down on West Point. I see your posts on the BFHP. Good to see you posting here again.

The infamous GR Wilt! Man, I didn't know what happened to you- I even posted the question of your whereabouts a year or so ago; Hooker or another of the "old timers" on the board said he knew you and would try to get in touch. I'm glad you're back- I've missed the insight and experience you bring to this site- especially regarding the Cohutta area.
Ironically, my buddy and I are to make our annual trip to Jack's/Conasauga next weekend. We always hike in from the east side of the wilderness, and usually go in July. This year, we wanted to try it earlier- the water will be colder, and, though low because of drought, not as low as in the middle of summer. It will be my friend's first try at fly fishing up there, and while I haven't jumped on board yet (still spincasting), I'm planning to before the end of the year. Any advice for the upper Jack's (above the falls) in middle May? It will, as always, be much appreciated! E-mail any reply if you don't mind. Glad you're back! |

Wow! I always wondered what happened to you. I have learned so much from your posts in the past that I just can't thank you enough. For all of you who don't know, this is the omniscient GR Wilt from the archives. Although I've never met him, he knows trout. Gerald, I live in AL too (B'ham) and I am often down your way for work and play. Where do you do most of your fishing? Caught any shoalies on Halawakee Cr. recently? Really though, welcome back. It's nice to have you here.
