We just received the stocking schedule for Amicalola River and the Morgan Falls Tailwater.
I would love to have GWFF, FFF,TU, or NGTO folks help stock DH fish in the Amicalola River, or Morgan Falls Tailwaters. Volunteers should BYOB (bring your own 5-gal. bucket). I will be stocking Amicalola River on 10/31. Volunteers should meet here at the hatchery around 8:30 am. Or call to find out when we'll be arriving at the river. We will plan to be at Paces Mill Park (NPS) with a stocking truck at 11:00 am on Wednesday 11/1/00. All other sites will be batch stocked, but I would like to distribute the fish at Paces Mill with volunteers. Remember BYOB (5 gallon buckets). If we get enough volunteers, we will work to distribuite the fish upstream and across the river at Paces Mill. I am concerned about moving fish too far from the stocking sites, because I want angler's initial success to be high. Eventually I would like to use volunteers to get fish all the way across the river, and a farther distance upstream from most if not all other sites. A rough head count of expected helper would be greatly appreciated. I'm excited about the stocking, and hope some of you will be able to join me. Thanks, Bill C |

What does "All other sites will be batch stocked" mean. Is the Paces Mill location the furthest south part of the DH?

Bill,
I'll be at the Paces Mill ramp at 11:00 a.m. on 11/01/00, with a square stern canoe, 2.5 hp motor, and five gallon buckets. See you there, Drifter |

Lemme guess....batch stocked=back the truck up to the water and dump about 100 trout in tyhe river...
I loove those pools on certain hatchery supported GA streams where a dump ramp has been constructed for the fish truck at the most likely pools. |
