Fellas,
One of "OUR" (Cherokee Co.'s Deputies was just serving a warrant in the Uppidy section of the county and was met by flying lead. From what I have been able to gather from another deputy that just came in the store was that he was hit in the face and the leg and was flown to Grady. If I understand right he has shot and killed the perp.

Im not sure if I personally know him or not ( I knew alot from my days of Volunteering in the counties fire service) but I know he and his family desprately needs all of our thoughts and
prayers.

He and his family will certainly be in our prayers. My brother retired from law enforcement just over 3 years ago and we have many friends that are still in it, so my heart sure goes out to this Deputy and his family.

God Bless,
Mike

Sorry to hear this. Police officers too often get an ufair rap, but the truth is they have a very tough, dangerous job. Hope this fellow is okay.

Saw it on the News this morning. Vest saved his life. My Prayers are with him and his family.

As a former cop myself - and I know there are several current law enforcement types on this board - I cannot say enough about WEARING the vest. It's hot, cumbersome and uncomfortable, but it does save lives. My prayers are also with his family. As for the bad guy - oh well.

Saw the young fellow in the hosp. on the News last night. He looked in excellent shape considering the ordeal--and a bullet wound in his left cheek. Three shots in the vest- prob would have been a diff story without it. Wishing the best for his recovery.
