Saw your post under the Unicoi Outfitters Board and wanted to reply. I didn't want to but in, and speak for Jimmy and his staff, so I figured I'd post a reply here.
I fished Smiths Creek Saturday and did OK. Several others, who fished up directly below the dam claimed of catching up to 24 fish within a few hours. I fished the property line area of the stream, and caught about 3 all day. Not bad, but probably could've done better closer to civilization. Just my need for ruggedness, I suppose. I tend to like to get away from it all.Joshua Barnett

Josh-
Thanks a lot for your reply. I understand what you mean when you say you want to get "away from it all." I walked very far downstream today and did pretty good...less presure...more secluded. Overall I caught 6. Not a bad day considering I would normally be in school during this time of the week. thanks again Dan |

Yea, it's a nice place-- where you can, on occasion, get away from it all. Just don't go on DH opening day. Man, the folks are wild out there for the first week or so of Dh fishing up yonder. I'm glad you weren't in school today either.
I had an equally exciting day-- probably not as fun though. I had to get my top braces taken off this morning at 8:30. I'm headed back January 6th to get the bottom braces taken off. Then back to a specialist for a bit or laser surgery on my gums, to even them out. Gotta love it.Glad you enjoyed your day. Hope to see you up there one of these days.
