So, how's the weather been where you live?
Woke up this morning to a heavy "dusting" of ice covering everything as far as my eyes could see. My deck was iced over, slippery and unforgiving. Everything here is still white, nothing is melting yet. All of today's weather patterns are telling me there may be some more to come. Maybe by tommorow, my creek will be thawed out. First time in nearly a year, that Shankles Creek has been icy. Beautiful. Joshua Barnett

What's the accumulation rates in Gaineswille, Michael?
I believe we're up to about an INCH right now, here in Nicholson. If you can remember the landscape around the fly shop, Michael-- One of the two dogwood trees that lie inside the fence adjacent to the shop has been coming down in pieces since about 3:00 PM today. The tree has completely frozen. The top portion broke off and fell to the ground, and since several large limbs have come down. Everything is icy-- the roads have a solid sheet over them. I believe we've seen about a dozen cars go by, and one actually slid across the street in front of our house hitting our mailbox. Churches and other places of worship in the area have already closed for tommorow's services. Needless to say, I don't think I'll be getting out either. I'm pretty comfortable here, inside by the fire. I've been watching tying videos, and Lifetime movies all day. Nice to take a day off every now and then-- even got some reading done. Joshua Barnett

That's exactly what it was.
No. Actually, all of our local channels were out due to something between here and the satellite. All the other channels had crap-tv on, like all the reality stuff, and Lifetime actually had a decent show on where rape, a woman being strangled or killed wasn't involved. Joshua Barnett

Yeah our cable just came back on. Funny how quickly all the ice disappeared this afternoon.

Sure is. We drove into Athens earlier this afternoon to get some groceries. We were plumb out of everything. Stood in line at the grocers' for nearly 20 minutes. Hundreds of people in the same situation we were in I suppose.
It seems like everything is slowly coming back to life. The ice on the top of the fly shop is slowly melting away, and I've noticed that the snow covered pastures are noe unveiling some green again. Hopefully, by tommorow afternoon everything will be gone. I don't mind snow, but ice makes everything so drear. Joshua Barnett
