First of all hello to everyone. Secondly here is my dilemma.
I am an avid see kayaker here in Florida, but i have never been on the chattahoochee. I would like to do some kayak fishing when I am up there next week. I was thinking about going from buford dam to abbots creek bridge road. I would like to stay out of rough waters. does Buford damm open everyday? and how rough does it get when it does. I would like to be one the river all day. If there is anything else anyone thinks I should know please tell me. thank You Joe Dezso |

The Chattahoochee flow is pretty unpredictable this winter/spring. We've had lots of rain, both above and below Buford dam at Lake Lanier, and that has meant lots of extra water flushing downstream. You really have to check the next day's generation schedule before loading the boat at night.
And next week's weather forecast ain't looking too good! You may get an invitation from some other 'yak fan (you know, those folks are a little weird! ) No doubt someone will chime in with some opinions and options.Don |

Welcome to the board of North GA Trout Online. You'll get plenty of info here.
