Hey guys for yall who haven't fished the hooch...its something you have to do. The hooch is a river that offers a good mix of bows and browns with an average temp from 44-54 degrees...so don't forget the waders. For yall who have never fished the hooch I suggest the float between HWY 20 bridge to Settles bridge. It'll take you about 3.5 hours so plan your trip accordingly and don't forget to call and check the release flows (770-945-1466). I fished the hooch on Saturday (6 AUG) and caught a good mix of aggressive rainbows and browns with the average size around 12 in. I was using majority subsurface flies: Pheasant Tails (#16-18), Y2k's, Sparkle Pupae (#16- 20), Wooly Boogers (#10-12) and a Crawdad (#12). I was using larger flies like the wooly booger to get the attention of the fish with small droppers about foot and a half down. This method seem to work pretty good as the fish couldn't resist the smaller flies. Try this method and see you have the same luck, but remember parking is limited at HWY 20 bridge so get there early....and keep a tight line
