![]() In response for requests for links to other fly tying and pattern sites the following is submitted.
http://www.flyanglersonline.com This site has just about everything. Patterns, tutorials, humor, etc. Highly recommended. http://www.southeastflyfishingforum.com Another great site. Very similar to our own NGTO. http://www.flytyingforum.com Actually four sites in one. Fly Tying / Rod Building / Fly Fishing / Classic Fly Tying. Take a look at some of the Salmon flies. Simply beautiful. http://www.danica.com/flytier/index.html Hans Weilenmann's site. Patterns from all over the world. Including, I believe, some by our own members. http://KWSU.org/offers/OMNFlyTying.aspx Offers downloadable tying tutorials. Approx. 50 30 minute programs with about 150 flies. http://www.globalflyfisher.com Patterns, Wallpaper, etc. http://www.ultimateflytying.com Patterns, entomology etc. http://www.warmwaterflytyer.com Patterns for warm water, etc. http://flyfisherman.com/ftb/-fly FlyFisherman's Magazine website, Patterns, Articles, etc. http://onlineflytyer.com Patterns, articles, etc. http://tuce.ca/flytying.html Links to fly tying and patterns http://derekspace.net Animations of wrapping, whip finish, etc. http://www.troutflies.com Tutorials of 20 + well known patterns http://www.copperfly.net Videos of Matarelli whip finish, hand whip finish/ hair stacking, etc. http://diptera.co.uk/ Patterns and tutorials from the UK. Many of our favorites, but also many interesting patterns that I'm sure would work here in the Southeast US. www.troutnut.com Entomology, pictures of insects, etc. www.theflybench.com Patterns with pictures and tying instructions http://www.flyfishingentomology.com/index.html Fly Fishing Entomology http://www.sethgreentu.org/entomology/entohome.html Fly Fishing Entomology http://www.hipwader.com/flyfishing/oreillys-fly-tying/ Patterns and tutorials http://www.charliesflyboxinc.com/flybox/index.cfm Step by step instructions http://hook.tv/ Short clips of various fishing subjects including how-to's http://www.flymph.com/ Flymph/Wingless wets patterns etc. http://www.flyrecipes.com/index.php Patterns for approx. 850 flies with more being added all the time. Really haven't looked at this site a lot, but it does look promising. http://www.rockymtnfly.com/fly_tying...le_primer.aspx Soft hackle patterns http://www.theanglersnet.com/ Fly tying videos Quick look at this site and it appears to have about 90 short tying videos with each one featuring a different fly. No voice instruction, just visual presentation. The backgroud music wasn't bad! http://www.flytyingclips.com/ http://www.flytyingworld.com/ http://www.flytyer.com/ Fly Tyer magazine online. Patterns, articles etc. http://www.rareandunusual.com/troutwetflies.htm Classic wet flies Photos and recipes http://web.mac.com/robertdotson/iWeb...n/Welcome.html Western Trout Flies-Yellowstone Reference Collection This site offers some history of early fly tying in the western states along with some photos of these flies. Many of these flies will work on our waters. http://learnflytying.co.uk/ From across the pond. A lot of stillwater patterns, but they will work on our moving waters also. http://www.swedneckflyfishing.com/hoppers.htm Some foam hoppers and other patterns using foam. http://www.jackgartside.com/articles_home.php The late Jack Gartside's site. http://www.flyfishohio.com/Adventures_in_Fly_Tying.htm Fly tying videos http://www.flytyingclub.org/fly-patterns-by-fly-type/ http://montana-riverboats.com/index.php?fpage=Fly-Tying http://www.cbel.com/fly_fishing/ 533 fly fishing sites!! http://www.czechnymph.com/en/e-shop/flies?item=0 https://vimeo.com/user3412872 http://www.allenflyfishing.com/fly-tying-tutorials/ http://www.lorenwflyfishes.com/tutorials/nymphs/hoover http://www.thecatchandthehatch.com/ I realize that this is only a very small sampling of sites. Please feel free to post or PM me with other sites along with any comments you have on that site. I will then add them to this list. Respectfully Chuck

![]() Consider it stuck.
Here is the site where I learned most of my basic flies: http://derekspace.net/ Many folks here will remember it as "http://www.tie-1-on.net" but he forgot to renew his domain lease and somebody snatched it from him. It still has good animation of how to wrap, whip finish, etc. Last edited by THE EG; 10-02-07 at 10:42 AM. |

![]() Thanks guys, and if somehow, magically, ALL those sites don't have what you are looking for just google "fly tying" or "fly tying patterns". I think all those sites should be sufficient. Once again, THANKS GUYS!
