Default Replacement ferrules

I am looking for a replacement set of ferrules for my 3 piece Monty. the sizes are:

upper male: 8/64ths
upper female: 11/64ths
lower male: 14/64ths
lower female: 17/64ths

Any leads are appreciated. I figure that I'll start making calls on Monday.

Default Ferrules

G-byte,
I met a gentleman through ebay, that has a ton of stuff bamboo related, and he builds & repairs rods. He's located up in Nova Scotia, Canada, so the mail takes a little longer, but he's quite reasonable on the prices, if he gets to bend your ear for a little while. He's elderly and his wife passed last year. He tells me, he has a ton of Herters bamboo blanks, and alot of the older rod builder componenets, they may not be Monteque parts, but aren't ferrules interchangeable, as long as size is correct? His name is Richard Durling, phone number is: 902-584-3480, please tell him Dan Larose referred you, I just spoke with him last Wed. as I just received an 8 1/2' 2 piece 2 tip beauty, and we traded. Good luck.

Bret,

You might also consider contacting Mike Longuil (Bamboo Mike) up in New York. He buys, sells, trades, and repairs a lot of production rods and might have the ferrules you need at a good price. His contact info is in the bamboo rod resource sticky post in this forum.

Ciao,

Brett, my father and I had the privelige of meeting somebody who just might be able to help you out. His name is Wes Cooper, and he is one of the founder members of Trout Unlimited. My father had some work done on 2 of his T&T bamboo's, and we went to see him this weekend. He showed us around his bamboo shop, and boy what a great old guy to talk with. He does lots of repair work for people, but has also been building for 27 years. He showed me 2 rods he had just finished and i had to keep from drooling. Anyways, he has a huge inventory of ferrules and things from older rods, and there is a chance he would have just what you need.

If you want shoot me a PM and ill get you his contact.

Rich
