Default Rainy's Tsunami (Variation)

Rainy's Tsunami (Variation)
Hook: Orvis 28 GT #4
Thread: Brown Gudebrod size "A" rod wrapping thread
Tail: Natural brown bucktail over white bucktail-- Optional: Several strands flash on each side
Underbody: 2mm X 2mm craft foam strip wrapped. Color does not matter.
Body: Root Beer colored Estaz
Carapace/Shellback/Head (Whatever you want to call it):
#1=2mm Tan craft foam circle 1/2 inch diameter
#2=2mm Brown craft foam circle 7/16 inch diameter
#3=2mm Tan craft foam circle 3/8 inch diameter
Legs: Round white rubber between #1 and #2 and between #2 and #3.

Tying instructions:
Hook in vice and attach thread.
Tie in a small amount of white bucktail and over this tie in a small amount of brown bucktail. Can add a few strands of flash on each side if desired.
Tie in a foam strip (Approx 3 inches long)
Tie in Root Beer estaz and then advance thread to almost behind the eye.
Wrap the underbody (Not too tight) and tie off behind eye. Remove excess foam strip.
Wrap tying thread back to approx 1/3 hook shank length from the eye.
Wrap estaz to tying thread and secure.
Tie in foam circle #1 and then tie in rubber legs. A small amount of head cement or superglue over the thread wraps in this area will help prevent twisting.
Wrap estaz 1 or 2 turns and repeat previous step with foam circle #2
Wrap estaz 1 or 2 turns, tie down and remove excess estaz. Tie in foam circle #1. Form neat thread head and whip finish and add cement to head wraps.
Trim legs to desired length.
Note: If foam circles want to stick up too much, add a small amount of superglue to underside of #2 and #3 and press down, hold until they adhere to the other circles. A very small amount of glue is all that is needed.
