Talking Where you grew up fishing.

I was replying to the "Curious question." thread about catching snakes N turtles N stuff, and ended up writing more than i wanted to post without starting a new thread.

So this one is about where you grew up fishing.

ive caught a bunch of turtles with bass lures mostly crankbaits, but one or two of them were mouth hooked. But byGod the woods I grew up in had its fair share of Copperheads. we had a lake back there i used to fish at 4-5 times a month. but i personally never encountered one, it was always my dad for some reason. im just lucky i guess is all. I used to flyfish it and catch some really nice bluegills back there with dryfly Caddis's, occasional bass. the regular bass fishing was fair, there was an old jonboat, and 1 paddle, i remember it had a tiny hole in it, just enough of one to let in about a 1/2 gallon of water an hour, thats why i could only fish for about 4-5 hours at a time. lol, i remember one time on that boat I got so drunk that I fell in, **** near sank the boat and all my stuff, lol. i was lucky it was so shallow in that part and i just waded to shore but it was real boggy and very difficult to wade in, real snaky too. and I was always always always alone, exept maybe 3 times out of the few 100's of times i went back there. Someday i hope to go back there maybe with my kids, or at least have a place for them like I had, w/ a place to enjoy the outdoors right outside there backdoor. I was glad and felt lucky to be raised where I was.
