Kevin, that's one way of turning just hits on your strike indicator into hook ups.

As I was scrolling down I was admiring the picture quality and how even your deer hair looked and then BAMM ! For a second I had to laugh and thought it should have been called a "Jack in the Box" Stimi, then I remembered how many times I've had a trout hit my indicator.

Nice Job !

LOL I figured it would be good for shock value. The idea came to me the WW stocking day before I went swimming. Gonefishn was standing to my right and I saw a trout come up and try to destroy his thingamabobber indicator on about 4 casts in a row. I had used one of these lightning strike indicators before but with the toothpick it seems to get tangled in my line during casting so this should take care of that problem and with the hook it should make those trout pay who come up to play with your indicator. Should float well too.

Kevin,
How does it ride in the water? It looks like it might have a tendency to lay on it's side.
Recent ties looking good.

Haven't tried it in the water yet. I will let you know hopefully soon!!! If it rides on its side, maybe the trout will think it is a dead stonefly with a swollen flourescent yellow head?!?!?

Someone said that very same thing about me once.

Now that just ain't right! Kind of reminds me of that picture of the catfish that tried to swallow a basketball.

Kevin,

if it rolls to the side, what if you flatend the bottom of the indicator. Wonder if that would help it stay upright ?

I see this is going to require a lot of testing

It kinda looks like a stone fly swallowed a piece of corn floating down the river. So if it lays on it's side it it just digesting !
