Default 4/17 Report from Pensacola

Full day of fishing.. .hit the beach in the morning for a handful of bluefish, whiting, one baby pomp, and a couple reds then later hit the bay and found some decent reds, white trout, speck, and a sheepie.... here's a few pics...

Aaron,
What did the pompano hit? We used to dig sand fleas in the surf at Ft. Morgan and catch them when they were running.
Nice variety ya'll garnered!!
Tight lines!

Believe it or not fresh peeled shrimp... seems as of late a PEELED fresh shrimp is working better than live fleas...

and speaking of bait... does anything in the world eat a bull minnow???? Apparently they don't work very well down here. I've caught redfish and trout on almost every fly or lure imaginable but nada on bull minnows...

Baldea I'm not responsible for the gang signs ... that is a result of too much Jager (and it's not me anyway)

Could you show a picture of a Bull Minnow? We used to fish the flats off MacDill AFB (well before 9/11) with baits we called mud minnows and the Reds would hit 'em everytime. We'd use a cast net out at the end of the runway and easily get a day's worth. The key was a dark colored hook through the nose. Stainless or nickle plated hooks would be completely ignored. I imagine the Owner or Gamakatsu circle hooks would work great.

I have caught a ton of flounder off the Ft. Morgan pier and ferry ramp with bull minnows.
Tight lines!
