The theme is "Respite". Interpret it as you choose for example, vacation.
Rules are as in previous months. 1. Submissions have to be in by the last day of the month 2. A poll to determine the winner will be the first week of the subsequent month. 3. No "photoshop" additions like extra images, but you can do color, level, contrast, etc. type adjustments. 4. Please give your entry a name or title. 5. Bonus Points will be given for adding technical data such as camera used, iso, focal length, camera settings, etc. 5. Since it's that time of the year, it does not just have to be trout. They can be shiny tailed Strippers, Buxom bream, big pouting lipped bass, or any other of our wet and curvy friends. The photos must be taken between June 1 and the May 30, 2009.

I want to play please.
The picture is made from the front corner of our cabin property on Little Moutnaintown Creek in Gilmer County. From what the neighbors have told us this is the last wooden bridge in the county. It is showing significant signs of wear and tear. The last time the county repaired the bridge they indicated that it would be the last, and the next time a concrete replacement would be the solution. We and all of the neighbors would prefer to keep the wood for sentimental and asthetic value. Fortuntely, the county is currently broke, thus the "Respite" for the old wooden bridge, at least for now. We're hoping we can talk the county into spending a couple thousand dollars for pressure treated wood and let us repair the old structure just one more time. I took this photo with a Kodak point-and-shoot early one morning. I'm really pleased with how it turned out, especially with the mist in the background and the hints of color in Iris and wildflowers on the bank, and just the general composition of the photo with the trees, shrubs, creek, and bridge being the center focal point. Would like to hear any and all comments. ![]() Title - "The Old Wooden Bridge" Camera - Kodak DX4530 Shutter - 1/45 sec. Aperture - f 2.80 Exposure - Normal Focal Length - 38.00 mm ISO - 210 Flash - none Sorry, after re-reading the rules I just realized that you were looking for photos of fish. (Doh !) Oh well, there's a wild 'bow in there somewhere, just can't see him. Last edited by mb90535im; 06-16-09 at 12:09 PM. |

Cool pic MB. If it were me I would adjust the brightness and contrast a little to give it a little more mood and pop. This is real easy in Picasa.

I have 2 submissions. I am violating the rules, but hear me out. Submission is after the end of the month (violation of rule #1). Some of our previous contest submissions in other months were not taken during the dates specified for that month even if they were submitted in the month specified (i.e. taken between Jan 1 and Jan 31, 2009). We play fast and loose on dates here for fun anyway. And the taken between dates for this month's contest are, um, odd to say the least.
Quote: "The photos must be taken between June 1 and the May 30, 2009" It is all in fun and dates are semi-irrelevant, so my two photos.... ![]() Title: "Soaking a Sand Flea" Camera: Olympus C5050Z Aperture: f 6.3 Exposure: 1/800 Post Processing: color boost x 1 in iPhoto ![]() Title: "Real Women Don't Need Waders" Camera: Canon Powershot SD 400 Aperture: f 5.6 Exposure: 1/500 sec Post Processing: color boost x1 in iPhoto TH
