Arrived at 1230 to a full parking lot at Steel Bridge. between the lot and the other side, there were about 10 cars!!! most ive seen, and a thursday too.
So i headed downstream for a while. went about 20 minutes to just before the second trib. i had to cover a lot of ground to find water to fish, the water was up a lot more than i would have guessed, and there was just not much good wading. Finally found the spot and tried my rainbow warrior/prince with extra flash - just left the tag ends on the holoflash as a wingcase and tail with a few turkey biots thrown in - got one furious hit pretty quick, and brought to hand a nice 12" rainbow. got pictures but nthing exciting about a 12" stocker - he wasnt particularly pretty. neither were the other two i got. Missed a few more bites. I had a scary moment on the way out trying to cross back. that water was going fast, and i was close as a barbers shave to busting and going for a ride down stream. A good adrenaline rush and i managed to get out and on my way. i was shocked to see the parking lot completely empty when i got back at 430 Enjoyed it - thanks to whoever posted about the rainbow prince. good idea, they didnt want anything else. rich |
