I've just moved, got all my licensing, and have fished the DH area of the Amicola and Smiths creek. I don't live too far from the Soque. I've seen the slobs in there and read the archives here. Any pointers for a newby? Also, is it well marked as far as what is private property and what is not? I really don't wanna have trouble with anyone or have to dodge any buckshot...
Thanks for any replies. ![]() |

Just start at the bridge, there is plenty of water going up.. All of the private land is clearly marked with cables and signs,

There are several bridges. The one you want to access the river from is Jackson Bridge, just upstream of Brigadoon. There is a 3/4 mile stretch of public water from that bridge upstream. Everything else on the Soque, other than the headwaters which are isolated and difficult to access, is private. Not all may be marked but in Georgia private land is posted by law so don't assume no signs mean it's open. It's been fishing extremely well lately, which also brings lots of attention to it.
