Default but I didn't

I probably should have stayed at home and worked this morning, but I didn't. When I got to the dam I probably should have put on the waders but I didn't. I knew it was windy so I was going to toss my 5 weight, but I didn't. One of the three decisions was the right choice.

Met Dave375 in the parking lot and tagged along with him for a trip down to mid-Bowmans. The water was still a good foot high when we started which put a quick chill on the goods. Since I had a bugger tied on already from a prior trip I slung it. Five minutes in I was pretty sure it wasn't going to be a bugger day so I switched to dry dropper, and though I often drop two midges I just stuck on a blue ice midge this time. It was a good call and within the next 45 minutes I had caught a dozen or so browns and one bow.

After I reverted to my largemouth bass hook set on a fish and broke off I re-tied and went with two droppers one of which was a glowing caddis midge. It consistently caught fish for the rest of my time on the river before heading back to the home office to grab a late lunch and get back to filling orders.

As always great to get a little time to fish with you.

Those shorts look too short, but I think they're actually pants:
