Default Spring Fishing

As Spring is almost apon us, I was wondering how the fishing is compared to the fall and winter. This is my first year fishing the Hooch, and I only started fishing in early fall (no experience spring or summer fishing here). Some people have told me it gets better, while my knowledge on trout and water temperatures leads me to believe it will slow down (but then again, I hear the Hooch's temperature is pretty constant year round). So, what do you guys think? I'm a spinner fisherman (yes, I know, on a site full of fly fishermen) that fishes above Jones Bridge in calmer waters (only slight rapids around fallen trees and rock). Do any other species pop up here and there (bass)? Finally, what about baitfish, such as shad and crayfish, do they appear? Any info about what you guys thinks works or changes I should be aware of would be great. Thanks!
Tight Lines,
JB

Well, I have had great days in the spring, summer and fall. April, May and June can be the most consistent with good days, but is also the most consistent with weather / water interruptions. If you get a chance, go fishing as the heat of July and August can bog down the catch rate....

I am gonna give you a mixed message here. I have fished Hooch for almost two years now, so I am fairly new to this. Personally, fall and winter have been the best times for me.... I think less fishermen is one key factor. Other times of the year are quite decent and productive as well. Overall, I like fishing here at Hooch. You will enjoy it...
