Good afternoon!
Thanks to near-perfect timing, the Fall Fling always provides a great opportunity to learn to tie flies specifically for fishing Georgia's great Delayed Harvest waters. Thus, the 2011 Fall Fling program will again include the popular "Tying Flies for Delayed Harvest"workshop! This workshop, which is designed for tyers who already know the basics of tying, will teach you how to tie a variety of specific patterns that have proven to be great producers on DH rivers and streams in Georgia, North Carolina, and elsewhere. We'll start promptly at 10:15 a.m. and go until around noon (or whenever we get the lunch call!). All materials will be provided. As for tools, bring your own or borrow mine -- just let me know if you need to borrow a vise and tools so I'll know what to bring. The class will begin with a very quick review of basic tying techniques and then move on to the tying itself. The patterns that we tie will include a variety of great DH patterns -- maybe even a surprise or two! There's no charge for this workshop, though I will put out the collection jar in case you might be able to help cover the cost of printed matter and tying materials. Class size is limited to 12 by the available space at our tables. Please sign up on this thread to reserve a space and so I'll know what to prepare in the way of tying materials and printed instructions. And remember to bring an empty fly box. By the time we're done, you'll be well on your way to filling it up! |

Steve, I would love to attend this time. Please sign me up. i will probably be accompanied if there is an extra chair, but I doubt she will be tying. if she wants to, she can use my vice and tools.

I would love to be a part of this class. I have not attended the fling before. Do I need to sign up to attend the event too? Thanks! |

I'm putting together the packages of material for the DH fly tying workshop even as we speak...it should be a lot of fun!
There is still plenty of room at the table, too. If you'd like to join in, just let me know! Best, Steve |

Russbledsoe 6. Driftwood 7. Shallowwaterfisher I've been asked if I'd bring some copies of the book ("Tying Flies For Stocked Trout") that I did on tying flies for stocked trout and DH trout, and I'll be glad to.
